Kooks! QTP! or TTS Hi everyone, 2'nd post,new to the ls1 cars. 
I know these ??? have been asked before but PLEASE HELP!!Which header performes best and which looks the best? Also which Y-pipe with each? I like looks alot ,so stay with stainless or jethot coated?!! Thanks everyone for ALL of your help.

Thanks everyone for ALL of your help. i hear stainless discolor a bit over time but that doesnt effect performance...id go with kooks if i had the money for them and a custom ypipe just wasnt practical for me though...get a custom made 3" mandrel bent ypipe with a real y collector and you should be fine.

FLP's FLP's FLP's thats 3 for FLP's everthing for 1299.00 full kit. My install went smooth just in about 5 hours first time evrthing fit perfect

I've heard that Kooks and QTPs are essentially the same design. The QTP y-pipe has a Flowmaster collector, whereas the Kooks is just welded pipe. The only thing about the QTP y-pipe is that it's aluminized, not stainless. I'm not sure if the Kooks Y-pipe is stainless or not? There are currently 2 good GPs going on for the Kooks...one here, one on the other site...they're both great deals.

Yes the Kooks and the QTP's are the same basic design. But the wait for Kooks is a lot less. FLP's are nice. There is also a sale on them here. Really can't go wrong with any of them.
TTS are also very nice. Don't know of many people running them though.

I have Grotts on my SS but I think I will get Kooks or QTPs for my WS6 since I can't get Grotts anymore. My Grotts had slip fit Random Tech cats on the collectors with my original TPIS H/C combo. When Mikey at Rapid Motorsports upgraded the TPIS combo to an Agostino Racing Engines (ARE) H/C and I gained about 60RWHP and that was with a 12 bolt and 315-35zr-17 BFGs out back. With the TPIS combo I had about 365 RWHP(CAN YOU SAY WEAK) and that was with the stock 10bolt and 3.42 gears. The ARE combo was dynoed with the 12 bolt and 4.10s and 315s(17x11 chrome ZR1s and stock full vehicle weight)= 414RWHP on Mikey's conservative dyno. Mikey removed my cats and replaced them with 3 inch straight pipe. He cut down the Grott collectors just a bit and welded on 3 bolt flanges. Then he flanged the by-pass pipes and flanged the matching 3 inch Grott y-pipe. I have heard then QTPS are besically the same design as Grotts. I have also heard the THUNDER RACING headers are like the Grotts too, but I don't know for sure. I am going with the Kooks or QTPS and no cats, but i too am undecided. I personally don't think there will be a noticable gain between the two (Kooks or QTPs). I don't drive my cars in bad weather so a stainless y-pipe isn't a required item, but a quality hiflow piece is needed!
Kooks all the way! I just ordered my second set of Kooks for my car - and I recieved them within 5 days - yes that is right, I ordered them on Monday and they were delivered from NY to Georgia by Friday. You just can't beat that kind of service. I did the whole wait thing with QTP, then gave Kooks my buisness and thats why I went with them again. This time around though, I picked up a QTP ypipe to try with the Kooks headers just to see.

Sorry been out. The Kooks and a QTP Y-pipe, will they bolt together? Thats the combo I think I would like to try . I have the factory CME, so what should I use from the Y- pipe,over the axle to the muffler? Thanks for everyones input. Sorry so many ???? but i would like know!!

I like my QTP's, but I've never owned Kooks or TTS. The QTP's are stainless steel, fit well, and are easy to install. They also tuck up closer than others I've seen for great ground clearance, which is one reason I got them.

So either the Kooks or the QTP is a good choice. What about the fit and install. Any idea on a I- pipe from the Y- pipe back over the axle housing to the factory muffler?The factory pipe looks smashed. I have the CME 345 hp. Thanks for the help!!!
