Default This should make you all laugh...

So I bought a new ZO6 diff with a 300M output shaft for my Auto C5 Vette. I have to remove the valley pan, and to do that I have to remove my X pipe. Well the guy who put my exhaust in apparently did not know what the hell he was doing.

I go to take off my X pipe and at the collector, and all 4 nuts and bolts where only finger tightened. I mean WTF who in the hell does work like this. If any one wants to know let me know I have the shop name so none of you use this shop. Specially if your in Texas.

Bolts loosen over time. I'm suprised you didn't hear any rattling.

The install is only 5K old?!!!! That's about 3 months of being driven on the weekends only and 2 times a week to school. The rest of the time off and in the garage, until I get a break from school here, before going back in August.

5k miles is plenty of time for them to back off especially on a new set up on your car. Why do you think wheel manufactures recommend for you to retorque your lugnuts on your wheels after the first thousand miles of putting them on. Same goes for intake bolts. Your vehicle shifts and metal expands as it gets warmed. It may not always become loose depending on the system and if locking bolts are installed like from "stage 8" but they should be checked at least after a week or two of driving.

I agree - that is enough time for bolts to loosen. I am confused at what you are calling the "valley pan"??
After reading again I think you must be referring to the tunnel plate!

The nuts on my header V band clamps will be loose after 2 heating/cooling cycles. Double nut 'em!

Those came off with the nuts and bolts also. That's why I am baffled. I have had header set ups done before and they usually use a little bit of lock tight orange color and lock washers. He installed the washers but no lock tight. Again to me substandard if it was my first goat rope then I would understand, but it isn't.

Off topic, but how many damn branches of service have you been in? I see army and navy ribbons in that stack.

Torque tube plate cover. Bad habit I picked up from a friend of mine, that kept forgetting to call it that. He referred to it as the valley of no return if something got stuck in there lol.

Navy does not have Spec Ops only the SEALS and its the Spec Ops Ribon you must be referring to. My wife put it together as a gift for my sig and never really paid much attention to it. Second row form the bottom up right?

if the bolts being loose from either heat cycleing or a simple oversight from the guy doing the work is the biggest thing your pissy about i'd consider myself lucky. if the quality of work is good then this problem you think that is big enough to not EVER EVER use this shop again, is not really a problem.

Didn't notice that one, I was refering to the Navy and Marine Corps Combat action ribbon. Second row from top, far right. Like the second one from the left in mine. Nice bronze star too!

I can send you my BSM write up if you'd like, ribbons can be a mistake, I did not do it, but medals is another story mine was approved by B.C. Freakely CMDR CJTF76. April 24th 06 Let me know when you'd like to receive it. Hell I'll leave my SSN and all info so you can research it if you'd like. As soon as I fix it I'll set the sig back up. My apologies to you and any other member things like this should be done by one self and thoroughly checked before using. Thanks for bringing it to my attention.
