Just got back from the exhaust shop tonight. Had 2.5in stainless steel dual exhaust made, going through carsound cats (allready had them) from there it went stainless 2.5in into a custom made x-pipe, where it splits off and goes UNDER the axle with PLENTY of room, up to Dynomax Bullet mufflers with tips welded onto them in the factory location. Now my previous setup was a 3in y-pipe back to a blowmaster muffler (sucky). All I can say is that there is a def. increase in mid range and top end power. The car pulls harder up top. Down low is negotiable, not sure about that. The sound is deep, rasp free but vibrates things at a low rpm (remember these are NOT dumps). Total cost...traded a couch and loveseat that didn't cost me anything and $125 total. I did have to order the mufflers from summit ($80 to my door for both). So for a total of $205 and a loveseat and sofa that cost me nothing I got true dual stainless steel exhaust!

The shop is in Weaverville, I head out to patton every friday and saturday night. I'm usually there around 9:30-10:00. I sit in the Advanced Auto/Best Food parking lot if I'm not driving. Under the axle there is PLENTY of clearance. I plan to lift the car on a frame lift this weekend and see what kind of clearance I have if any. I'm not too worried about it. If I need to I will make a removable section in the exhaust right under the axle for these situations.

My car is red with factory ground effects/lowered and SS wheels. Unfortunately i do not have any pics of my car i need to get some up though. Its always cool to meet other f-bod owners around my area, as their are not many to begin with. Hows the patriot heads working out, have you had it on a dyno yet?

Haven't had it on a dyno yet, I need 4 people total to get it dyno'ed here in town for $75 on w/wideband for an hour. If your interested in going on saturday let me know. I can probly get the other 2, I know another one for sure tho. Anyway, you should come hang out with us this weekend, (Josh and I). Josh has a black SS, he just finished putting a cam in it this last weekend. You should meet us near Advanced Auto on Patton tommorow night at 10:00 if you can.

Blue Ridge Automotive has a dyno here in town. You know where I40 crosses over patton ave? It's a few miles past that on the left. Maybe we can hook up next weekend.

I had mine run under the axle as well... no problems at all. If I have to drop the rearend that may be another story. but until that time comes I'll be happy with what I have.
