Default Good Price?

My brother in law said he will install my Pacesetter LTS and ORY as well as change my plugs, wires, oil, and filter for $100. Is this about right or is it a good deal?

He's very competent or he wouldn't touch it lol. He's just recently done a H/C and full exhaust on a new Charger.

I gotta make sure he doesn't see this thread now. How much easier will it be to do plugs without any of the exhaust on the car?

Considering it took me around 35 hours to installed headers, build a y pipe and install poly motor mounts I think its a good deal. I did buy POS stainless ebay headers that required a lot of work so this is not the norm. I would say if its your first time it will be a weekend job. You would remove the plugs after the exhaust manifolds are off. Install the headers than install new plugs and wires. $100 is a bargain are you sure he will do all that for a $100?

None really, the headers have to be on the car before the new plugs go in.

Which did you get? I have tuned a dozen or so cars with them this year and they all tell me they go right in (except that they don't come with hardware).

Pm me and tell me what you need done and I can ask him. It's not going to be as low as what I'm paying but shouldn't be too high. Yea, he's doing the headers/y and plugs/wires for $100.

Got the headers in a few hours ago but the y-pipe won't be here until Monday. I can't wait to hear the results of all the money I just spent. I've also got a Borla catback so how do you like the way yours sounds with the headers and y-pipe?

I have the same set up as you. Pace LT's/ORY and borla catback with out cats. I really like my set up! Does get a little raspy at 2200-2500 rpms or so but other than that sounds great, espically at WOT! I also run the borla open I didnt get the plates that go in the back but if the rasp is too much for you in certain rpm range, you may try finding plates and see if that helps.

I'm not sure which ones I bought, they were around $190 if I remember correctly. They had air and egr tubes that I had to cut off and weld shut. The collector on the drivers side was angled up so I had to cut and reweld that. Also the passenger side rubbed on the block near the starter so I had to clearance the starter and my block. Had to cut the **** out of my k-member on both sides and had to bang up the firewall a little. One last thing, the passenger side o2 sensors points downward and now the o2 sensor is the lowest point of the exhaust and it has rubbed before.

You can do that in one morning.. Doesnt take any time at all, and I do it on the ground..

I did it for a buddy for free.. Sparks plugs with the headers out are a breeze, and a oil change..
Header swap doesnt take but a few hours.. I wouldn't do it for anybody free but I would do it for cheap..

75-125$ for a local fbody owner sounds about right to me.

+1, at a shop it would cost about $300-400.

Do it in hurry! I did my headers by myself last weekend on and off, and proly took me about 10-12 hours. Also I think you have to get your spark plugs before you take the manifols off and get them back on after the headers, at least thats what I did because I didnt want to brake off any of the spark plugs.
