catback system: hooker or magnaflow?
I have a 2000 ws6 m6 and I recently installed some lts and ory and just cannot decide whether to go with hooker or magnaflow's catback system. I need advise(installation, durability, performance, sound quality and pics if you have 'em). I really appreciate it, Im tired of being on the fence.

You can go onto www.ls1sounds.com to hear different exhaust setups.

I don't like the big cannon tips on the Magnaflow. While their muffler is good, the tips would keep me from buying their catback.
They both are quiet with nice sound quality. A knowledgeable guy on this board (Damian) has claimed that testing shows the Hooker flows better. So, I give a slight nod to the Hooker, but either one is a good choice - as long as you like the Magnaflow tips.

i vote magnaflow as well. stainless, and i only paid 380 with free shipping. i dont get why people complain about the tips, i actually like them but i would see it only costing like 50 bucks to install different ones on there.

To the Op. The stock Magnaflow tips look kind of funny on Formulas and Camaros but don't look bad on TAs. You can always get the duel tips.

The Magnaflow had great fitment and quality, stainless, great price especially for stainless, easy installation, and I love the sound. I noticed no difference in power between my duals and the magnaflow either. It is on the quieter side but if you roll into the throttle or go wide open it gets throaty. I think its a perfect balance and have gotten a lot of compliments on it.

Yep, the merge is key. I couldn't believe the difference in sound after I ditched the aftermarket y with the crappy merge and got a custom one done. Sounded like a completely different exhaust system.

The Magnaflow is Stainless which is nice, but the Aerochamber muffler flows more cfm (I've tested them both).
For the money, the Hooker CB is the best CB on the market, bar none. It flows better than ALL of the $600+ catbacks, and the entire rear section can be dropped also for racing at the track to save weight.

As I said this was HIS CLAIM - not that I had access to the test:
