most of the catchcans on ebay are not very effective. they don't do a good job of pulling the vapor out.

i would check out the cans the RevXtreme makes or the one from Mike Norris.

the RevX comes with a built in PCV...so all you do is run some tubing and mount the can.

 

there are a couple companies that make really good catch cans. here are the two of them that seem to do really well.

Are you trying to reinstall your PCV system like stock or install a catch can?

 

no i deleted my whole pcv system like 2 years ago. i gave the pcv away. im running the small breathers on the valve covers and plugged everything else. the only problem is it spits oil vapor all over the valve covers and i lose oil eventually. it lets condensation inside also.
so now i want to go to a catch can setup. i just dont know much about them.

 

Okay, I'm trying to figure out what makes your PCV system different from other LSx engines. What information are you looking for that's not in the threads referenced above?

 

You have oil spitting out of the breathers...onto the valve covers?

Do you have a ton of blow-by happening? Worn rings?

With breathers on both valve covers there should be no crankcase pressure at all. But with alot of blow-by it'll spit out oil.

its not spitting out just coming out over time in vapors. like say after a few months you have some oil residue on the valve cover. its normal.

 

It is easy enough to plumb a new PCV system on your motor that will be more effective than the OEM one.

If you want I'll walk you through it.

In that diagram, if I am not mistaken that passengers side is like a 1999, but 2000 (?) and up only have one line up front out of the valve cover but basically the layout is the same as far as plumbing to the catch can correct? What if you have the ls6 pcv mod, any difference?

 

If that's the case, ignore that port on the diagram. Here's with the LS6 valley

I already have a design for one that works really well but would really like a slick drawing like the one you made. The FI guys are all over the map with a bunch of crappy drawings and some weird ideas. I picture like that is worth 10,00 words. I would certainly give you credit for the help.
