Default Off Road Y pipe + stock CME Exhaust

Hi, im looking for some input concerning a 2002 Camaro SS's exhaust. I Currently I have the stock SLP CME exhaust package. I do not know if the muffler is even a upgrade over a base line ss's. Currently I have an electric cut out in the "I" pipe. I am interested in getting a off road Y pipe in conjunction with my stock muffler. I am not so much interested in the performance of getting a new cat back but more in the sound. I don’t want anything too loud and cannot afford a true dual system. Would this set up sound any good with and without the cut out open and closed? I figure having no cats but a quiet muffler would make a good overall combination with less rasp as compared to a glass pack. Thanks.

I run this way, but my cutout is at the axle arch.
Cutout open, it sounds like open pipe dumped under
a car (i.e. like ***, below 3KRPM, great when nailed).
Closed, it sounds like a Camaro should. If the muffler
is stainless and has evident bend-lines in the shell,
it's the upgrade muffler. Stock are smaller and a
more usual looking oval body.
