Default Help with Spark Plugs

I am getting VERY low gas mileage (about 130 miles per tank) and I am not sure what to do. The car only has 1700 miles. I'm thinking that a change of spark plugs and wires might help, but I'm not sure what to buy. I'm looking at MSD wires and TR55 plugs but I need more specifics. The car is pretty much stock -- SLP airlid, Holley powershot filter, and Borla exhaust are my only performance mods.

Do you have an M6 or and A4? If you have an M6 with stock gear in rear end you should get around 200 miles a tank, but it sounds to me like you have your foot on the pedal to hard.

It's an A4 with 273s. I really don't drive it very hard...

Hmmm, take it to the dealer and complain of poor fuel economy, they will scan it and take a look at )2 performance for you. That is my guess. And about the plugs. Look no further than a set of NGK TR55's. No better plug out there.

Another vote for taking that beast to the dealer, tell em you dont drive the car harder than normal and get them to check it out. If you change the plugs go with the NGK TR55s as smoke ford said. Good Luck

A plug change is in the works simply because I'm certain that they are fuel fouled, but I don't think that's the problem. I would bet that it's something in the fuel system that is malfunctioning or has failed. It could be anything, and that anything starts a chain reaction on all the othe sensors in the system. Because it's still under warranty, and if you trust dealership work, then I'd take it to them.

i get 13-14mpg and my car is tuned, i cant do anymore to help it get better mpg. My car drinks oil, does yours? It seems the one that drink oil, also drink, guess, theres nothing fouling my engine up, only bad is the rings, that hurts the power and makes the engine not really efficient as it should be.
