if you are going to be going to the track, and doing some hard launches (or just putting decent power to it) its definately worth the money, ive seen a few stockers (including my own) rip apart the holes around the crank bolts.

the flexplate is a good investment, mainly for your own safety. have or plan to put in a stall convertor?

whats the reason for pulling the engine? heads/cam/headers/stall/ would be the way to go while the engine is out of the car

sound slike a solid plan. i would recommend doind it with the motor out. it makes the work easier. but in a car with an engine bay that big. you shouldnt have a problem. street/strip car? or strictly track

upgrade, most ls1 folks like using a stall somewhere between 3200-3600. what trans do you plan to back the engine up with?

i use a th400 with a 4000 stall i love it. but then again i have heads/cam/intake plus spray.

I got the generic looking SFI approved plate that several companies slap their name on and resell

it was $60 shipped brand new on ebay

its thicker than stock, gold anodized, and doesn't feel much heavier than stock at all

I got this one also, Its manufactured by CAT Power Systems. It is significantly thicker then stock and much stronger Im willing to bet. It does have the SFI rating also. I got mine for about $70 shipped I believe.
