Default header paint??

i was wondering what kind or if any kind of spray paint will live up to the heat from headers?

and if not do header wraps work all that great? i have heard some bad stuff bout rust with them?

thanks all!!

i think the header wraps are more for sheilding the wires close to the headers. not sure about the header paint, but maybe a high temp engine paint is what you're looking for?

We tried a high temp paint on some pacesetters a friend of mine has, only lasted a couple days. I haven't seen any paint that will last.

I don't think any paint will stand up to the heat the headers see. You are better off doing a wrap or having them coated.

my friend used high temp paint on his headers... the reason when people do paint them and dont last is because they dont clean/sand them down good enough... my friend has a sand blaster so that made it a lil easier on him... paint came out real good it's been about 4 months and the paint is holding up pretty good there are some spots that bubbled n peeled off but not that bad

The wrap is for insulation only. It will cause your headers to rust out prematurely.
