What type of OIL do you use???
The German Castrol 0w30 is great. I've been running it for 2 years now with good results. Last year I ran it for 5,000 and my oil analysis came back awesome. I've seen other people run it 10-11K miles without issues.
However, I keep at least two Fleetguard Cummins on the shelf so I always have the best filter made at my fingertips.

Out of all of the oils, I was most impressed with the results of Penzoil Ultra and Mobil 1.
I currently run 5w-40 Penzoil Ultra with a Mobil 1 Filter. I've looked at alot of oil analysis from other people runnning Ultra and it seems to be a superb oil with the only thing I do not particularly like is the high amounts of boron.
To each his own with the oil and filter choices, but after being the manager of a Jiffy Lube for 2 plus years (dont judge me haha), I see the vehicles that have lasted the longest are the ones that follow the 3000 mile conventional or around 6000 mile synthetic rule (not to say you cant go farther/shorter, just stating my observation). We have about 5 vehicles (all Chevys
) that are all over 300000. Among the top tier oils & filters, there's not much difference and you can't go wrong with any of them. Just staying away from the cheep stuff and often oil & filter changes will keep any engine happy. If I couldn't get German Castrol, Mobil 1 would be my next choice.

Having a good oil filter and doing regular changes is more important than the oil used, and good oil filters are $3-4 more than the shitty generic ones; why skimp?
