Headers will not hurt your car. They will only help..The burnt exhaust valve thing is a myth.

about the only way you could get burnt valves from headers is if you just don't get them tight and have a BIG exhaust leak...headers or exhaust in general have to supply some back pressure to keep them from burning. run a car with no exhaust on it at all and yea you can screw some valves up....

As long as you get your header bolts tight you should be fine. For extra protection get the headers coated, get some good exhaust manifold gaskets and it's not a bad idea to periodically tighten the header bolts.

Any car will burn the valves if you have a massive leak. Exhaust manifolds can leak due to loose manifold or header bolts. My stepson burned the valves on his S10 because the exhaust manifold bolts came loose and he kept driving it anyway.

If you want to get technical, millions of hotrods and muscle cars have run headers without any problems. You just have to use a little common sense.

Good luck,

Al

I wouldn't buy the SLP. They are very expensive and have almost no ground clearance.

pacesetters and orp from tsp. there the least expensive headers you can buy and are just like the hookers. i have heard of gains up to half a second from some people. the kooks and QTPs are better but will gain only 5-10hp over the pacesetters but they cost alot more. then use the 400 you same to buy a lid or something else.

I hear really good things about QTP. Alot of people use headers and have no problems at all. Headers can either make you run a rich or lean you out. Just make sure those bolts are tight and that you have no exhaust leaks. And everything is installed correctly. I have slp lt's no cats and loudmouth. It's a tad on the loud side to say the least. hahaha.

I would not buy the SLP Loud Mouth exhaust. I have it with hooker headers and a Hooker off road Y-pipe and it sounds like *** at a certain RPM range. The rasp is god awful. But I live with it b/c I messed up and don't have funds for a new catback, also it does sound wicked at WOT.
