Default thinking of changing exhaust setup..opinions?

hey fellas,

right now im cammed, all bolt ons, and running pacesetters, ory, and magnaflow catback. very happy with it. but, ive been thinking of ditching my pacesetters and running some hooker 1 7/8 headers and tsp sweet thunders!!

just wondering if its even worth the swap? trying to get as much out of my setup as possible. my only concern is the ground clearance with the tru duals. also, im wondering if ill gain anything by going with 1 7/8. or do you guys think i should just keep my pacesetters and run the tru duals or keep what i have?

definitely heads and fast 92/92 will be on there. the car isnt really a daily driver but can be. just wondering how much faster a car could possibly run with adding tru duals and bigger headers.

The guy I bought my current engine from had big *** long tubes and 3 inch duals and only made 9 rwhp more than me. I still have Mac mids and 2 1/2 duals so I don't think it would be worth the money unless you are making a ton of power.

Yeah just get a good set of 3 inch duals with your choose of muffler and let it rip. You will love the sound. You could probably trade what you have now and add a little cash as well or maybe a straight swap. You never know.

Sweet thunders sound excellent on true dual setups, I had them on mine before my current setup. They sound just rite on bolt on only car, but after the cam goes in there is no more nighttime driving for you.

I would keep your current setup and spend the money elsewhere.

If you do heads and bump your compression a bit it will get louder, keep that in mind.

Instead of changing your entire setup, put a cutout on the Y and call it a day.

thanks King!! do you have any pics? i have thought about just doing a cutout, but magnaflow is too quiet.. it doesnt really sound very aggressive even being cammed.

somebody might be able to correct me but you probably wont be able to notice much with 1 7/8" headers. I think they are more for big block applications and would help the exhaust when over 500hp. I have 1 7/8" but its for the future and just replaced my stock manifolds so for price i would stay with what you have.
I agree with power shift though. True duals sound mean but if youre on a budget just throw a cutout on it. I have that and then the magnaflow in the rear for if i ever want it quiet.

If you're putting a cutout on for the sound only, you clearly don't need a cutout because you don't understand their purpose. It's a cheap, proven way to pick up around 10 horsepower.

But for your argument, I don't like the way they sound cruising around, but at WOT, they are awesome in my opinion.
