Default What Kind of Gains From LS6 Intake on Cammed LS1?

What kind of increase in RWHP and RWTQ did those of you with cammed LS1s see switching from the LS1 intake to the LS6 intake? I'm debating on how to spend some Christmas money, so dyno numbers would be much appreciated, particularly from cam-only cars.

Thanks,
Josh

12-18 rwhp depending. I have seen as high as 25 rwhp on a heads/cam car. It's definately a worth while mod considering you can pick up an LS6 intake for around 350 bucks now.

definately a worthwhile mod for the price. like damian said i've seen 24rwhp (check jmx's site) but expect at least 18rwhp or so.

Would it need a retune cause I was thinking about putting one in. Dyno tunes aren't cheap.

Not to get off the subject so much but was your car tuned after the headers? With your longtubes etc.. 320 for a M6 seems alittle low.Mine dynoed 319hp and 334tq with a Lid loudmouth k&n iegr FRA iscreen and ported TB. With the LS6 intake and tunning you should see 25+hp. I would think there is 10hp there now with tunning.

No, it wasn't tuned when it was dynoed. I was disappointed in the numbers myself, but I'm hopng the dyno was one of the more conservative out there. An A4 H/C full bolt-on WS6 only made 370 on the same dyno a few minutes after I made my pulls, though he was having a number of problems that would negatively affect the numbers. I want to get redynoed after I get the LS6 intake on a different dyno to see what happens.

Dude your not gonna gain nuthin!! It's gonna take more than that LS6 intake for you to keep up ....like a new clutch!! j/k man. I'd guess with your mods, LT's, cam and full exhaust a reasonable 14-18rwhp. Your engine is sucking air through a bendy straw right now, gotta make that bendy straw bigger with the LS6 intake We could always talk to the dyno guy here in town and see if he'll let us swap your intake on the dyno, won't take us more than 45 minutes including swapping the injectors and fuel rail on to the new intake. Done it a couple times now, piece 'o' cake. Then you can really show everyone the difference the intake makes on a cammed car. Just a thought...
