Default Need help! can I cap this off?????

Hey guys I have a 98 ws6. Today I was replacing the water pump and when I was disconnecting one of the hoses I broke the fitting. It's the small return line back to the radiator that connects under the throttle body. The tube broke under the throttle body and it looks like it runs to both sides of the intake or heads it's hard to tell. If I cap it it could still circulate, but wouldn't have a return back to the radiator. I'll fix it the right way if I have to, but it looks like I'd have to pull up the whole intake to replace the tubing. Thanks in advance!

Probably broke the coolant lines. It runs to the radiator, then the tb the the lines which runs to the engine. It is there to bleed off air. You bypass the throttle body. Take some pics for better more specific advice

If it connects to the throttle body, you can bypass it. If it is the T that goes to the heads, I would say no, it needs to be repaired.

No I have the TB bypass done that's already capped off. This hose connects to some metal tubing underneath the TB.

It the hose that was attached connects to the radiator up at the cap where the overflow hose is.

I think it's the T that goes to the heads. If I capped it wouldn't it still circulate? Why does it need to flow back to the radiator?

I believe that hose is at the high point in the system, and allows what would be intrapped air to be purged out of the engine. This in turn will help reduce hot spots in the heads.

That line needs to be there to vent the heads but it doesn't have to go through the throttle body. In fact if you ever upgrade to an aftermarket TB they don't have those coolant lines and you have to bypass it. Here is a guide to do it:
