Default 1 7/8 or 1 3/4

anyone want to share their opinion....car should be making around 440whp 420ft through a 4l60E....gonna get new headers down the line and curious which ones to go with....3/4 make more down low i think? 7/8 make more up top i think? but for my specific power range which would get me down the track the fastest with a 373 gear? thanks

Do you have a higher stall converter? Another option that would be the best of both worlds would be to get stepped headers. 1 3/4" stepped to 1 7/8. You get the torque through the midrange and the power up top.

Someone doesn't read - stock 01 motor with a FAST intake, no heads or cam. Said it right there in the thread.

I put 1 7/8 on my old stock motor and it was beautiful. Properly tuned, 1 7/8 gain more everywhere on an LS motor.

I went with 1 7/8 on my G8. Didnt see any loss of power compared to those who went smaller 1 3/4. also went with bigger for the future mods. I know not same engine but thought i share.

1 7/8 here. good power, plus they dont look like noodles hanging off of your cylinder heads like smaller ones do.
