i used rhino ramps.....take off belt......three 15mm bolts on front bracket.......one 15mm and 13mm on back bracket.....13mm bolt on wire to battery....BE very careful on the top plug.....easy to break and hard to get a hold of......unbolt sway bar bracket bolts so sway bar will swing down and give you room to get out ALT.......all done

my problem was the power steering lines, the alternator wont clear the lines to drop below the mounting brackets to pull it out. Know what your saying bout the top plug, thing is a bitch.

I didn't remove the swaybar.

After the bolts & wires are off you have to pry the alternator out of the bracket. Once they are apart the alternator and bracket each will come out.

Installing is much easier. If you look close at the bracket there is a sliding pin that is in one of the holes of the bracket - that's the part that held it all tight. Spray it with some wd40 and then give it a few taps with a hammer & punch until it moves out a bit. That will let you slip the alternator into the bracket easily.

You can also push the fans to get the alternator out. You don't need to remove the swaybar.

You don't have to drop the swaybar down, but I found it really makes it easier getting the alternator in/out.

how in the hell do you get the rear bracket bolts off? there are 2 bolts, one facing the driver's seat and one facing the front tire. i could never get a ratchet in a good enough position to work on the smaller one facing the driver's seat. how did you guys do it, from underneath? i'm really confused!

It'll come out w/o removing the SB on the far DS if your d!ck is hanging just right. I have a 35mm bar and had mine off twice in the last 4 months... Flip it around all different ways and you'll get it....
