Exhaust Backfiring after Header install?

Exhaust Backfiring after Header install? I just installed Flowtech LT headers along with the TSP X pipe and replaced the plugs an wires as well and now whenever i downshift and the rpms get lower i can hear lots of small backfires and they're one after another, it also backfires when i get on it and shift and when i start it up on the occasion. The car is untuned and at the moment thats my only idea, anyone got any others?

mine did the same thing, welcome to free flowing exhaust 
and no a tune wont necessarily help, it may actually make it worse if you run more rich. don't worry though it doesn't really mean there's something wrong.

are you misfiring?
also, could just be normal, my bone stock motorcycle makes all kinds of crazy noises, you just can hear it more without the restrictive mufflers etc in the way.

are you running mufflers with cats or cats only? i choped off my muffler and ran cats with Y pipe and it did the same thing kinda nice actually

If it's actually backfiring, and not just popping/gurgling, 9 times out of 10 there is a hairline crack in a spark plug. Cracking a plug is pretty easy to do in a header install.
