Default Rookie Header install ?'s

The last ( and only ) time I did a set of headers was on my 1990 Mustang gt about 5 years ago. Our LS1's are a little different I don't have access to a lift. Can full length's be done with jackstands ?

Yes they can. You will need to raise the car up around 18" to do it though. I'm sure others will chime in that have done it on jack stands, but 18" is what I seem to remember right now. Now how to do that safely, I have no idea.

I just installed SLP LT's/Cats/ORYP over the hoildays. I used four jack stands. It was a job but just take your time and you will be OK. What type of headers do you have to install?

I'm going all out with the Kooks cat and Y. I might have to swap out the loudmouth from what I've been told. I have a Borla cat back.

I just did PPCs on jack stands. You can check out the pics on my website. I had ~24" of clearance - more is better here. I used 4 6-ton jack stands, and had a ramp under each tire to add stability. Not problem with the ground clearance. The install on the other hand.....not fun. I would recommend disconnecting the steering linkage. It's only 2 bolts, and it has helped everyone that did it. Remove the oil filter too.

Jack stands are plenty, I had no issues at all with them.

4 hours in a pit=12 hrs for me in the driveway. Maybe I'll be a puss and have my shop do it.
