Still to much money any way you look at it. I would go whisper lid or SLP lid.

[QUOTE=djfury05;13334764]explain how an air lid would heat soak lol[/QUOTe

i suppose on a really hot day the under hood temps on a a solid hood vehicle could cause the lid to get hot and make the intake air temps higher than normal.... i think he meant it would raise the intake air temps ...

I kinda like the idea the plastic aftermarket ones crack pretty easy heat soaking would not be an issue with a meacham/transam style hood .. I overall like the idea plus he has them in 100mm

It would be good for show cars I bet, you could polish it up nicely.

I say it's good for the N2O bungs, that's about it.. On a metal lid, that'd be better than drilling the plastic

You can always put bags of ice on it in the staging lines like the Mustang guys do!

Even the plastic lids receive heat from the engine bay and
conduct it to the IAT sensor. Steel will increase the heat
conductivity relative to the air that's trying to set IAT
reading.

My experience with the SLP CAI (stainless) was also bad,
it raised temperature when added to my SS air path.

I don't expect WOT air temps would change hugely, but
you are at the mercy of IAT error and the tune, more
than the reality of incoming air temp.

I say walk away and don't look back.

The N2O bosses are kinda cool, but I'm not really a fan overall.

I guess if you were to polish it up, it could give your engine bay a unique look.

Since when is using a bag of ice to cool the intake components a faux pas?

If it's hot enough to heat the lid, the air itself detracts from power. . . If you're worried about the 'potential' of heat soak, just put a hole in your hood and run straight into the intake. It's a nice looking piece...
