I did it with and without headers, both times from the top. Didnt seem too bad once the coil packs were removed and I dont think you can do it from the bottom with headers

Might be depends on what brand of headers you have. I can change the #8 plug alot easier (faster) from the bottom versus the top. I've done both mind you. With all the time you fiddling on taking the coilpacks off to get better access to the number 8 plug, I've have already jacked up the car, removed the plug wire and in the process of removing the plug.

Maybe, I have 1 7/8" Kooks and couldnt get up from the bottom.

hmm. never considered going from underneath with LT's. probably not as easy. somethin i have to consider now that i have a set on order!

Remove the A/C-Heater box, get really good access to #8 that way!
