The fix for my endless alternator failure's
Here is a chart that can be used as a "General" reference as to why the truck alternator is better; CS-144 > CS-130. Couldn't find a CS-130 chart. That is why the CS-144 graph is used as a general reference for the CS-130 alternator & is not exact. Use the 108 AMP curve as a general reference for the 105 AMP CS-130 alternator. Regardless, the outright benefit of using a CS-144, 145 AMP alternator can be seen.
Note: RPMS on graph are alternator pulley RPMS, not engine RPMS. So, back calculate engine RPMS @ idle to find available idle AMPS from the alternator.
Second pic is a complete parts list for all of the CS series alternators w/ AC- Delco reman part numbers.
? the threaded bolt on the back is this where it connects to the positive battery?
Thanks
Thanks
?what size copper ring connecter did you use for atl.& battery connection?
I asked because usalley a bolt on a case is normalley a gound. remember I've never swapped a atl.
Here's the link I found this alt.
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...K%3AMEWAX%3AIT
Now that I know where the positive connects I'll finish the big 3 hopefully the 3rd wire of the big 3 will be the solution.
image of where I'll connect 3rd big 3 on the LS1 alt. correct?

another ? what is the function of the vent tube on the LS1 alt. to dirvert hot air away from parts of the engine? because the ad244 doe'nt have this vent.
Thanks

The Best V8 Stories One Small Block at Time
i used the correct lug for the size wire i had......they come with different size holes for mounting.......if the hole is to big just use a washer
that link for ebay does not have much info
the AD244 does vent the fan.......it just does not vent it in a direction like the stock alt
these 2 red wires don't look orginal OEM
?1are these 2 wires connected to the starter?
?2.these red wires appear to be fatter than orginal what guage are they?
?3. I have some leftover AWG 0 guage that I plan on using to complete the big 3 what size of Oring lug would you guess would be the correct size for at atl. and battery.

CALL THEM AND ASK FOR A KG3 ALTERNATOR FROM A 2003 CHEVY TRUCK.
That item shows to boost output, which would mean the alternator would be working harder, so it would seem that it would only make the alternator fail sooner.
This thread was started due to the lack of being able to find a quality replacement alternator when the original alternator fails, I went through roughly 10 in a year before I did the truck alternator a year ago and still have no problems. The replacement alternators are just junk.
I got my alternator from LKQ for $43.30 a year ago and it's still working flawless, even with the system and multiple WOT runs.
Just buy a pigtail, that's what I did, it's a connector with a wire and you just connect it to the existing wire.

the 2 red wires are the stock wires....i just removed the red plastic cover off of stock batt lug....the new batt lug bolt fit it better without it on
the 2 new heavy gauge wires on the batt lug go to the starter and the alt.....i have a mini MSD starter that needs more juice
just find a lug for the wire that fits......i used trial and error to fing my lugs

I crusied by O'Rieliy auto store and asked for a 03 Cadilack escalade alternater.
and he bought out the same small cased 105 amp. atl that the junk yard (they deliveryed 2 like this)
I understand that there are actuelly 4 differnt models of escalaids 2 wheel drive 4 wheel drive some loaded some not I'm wondering which exact escalaid has this big ad244.
KG3 is meaningless it's only an option code.
when I was observing the alt. at the auto store I asked for a lug to fit over the positive output and the Oring of lug was 1/4" however this copper lug was designed for much skinnier wire that my AWG4 I plan to use.
so I have to search a bit of this lug.
I am very interested in this Tuf enought alt. mainly because they claim it to be new maybe TransAm_VS_VR-4 will chime in w/ details.
