post a pic.......you could remove the pulley and install your old cs130 pulley......i believe it will fit

@ sjsingle1 thanks i didn't know off that junkyard but its perfect because that's the way i go home from work and i got my full refund off the one i bought on eBay because he didn't mention 2 pin or 4 pin he emailed me this morning and said 2 pin so i got the refund thanks

Default ad244 alternator pulley

Thanks for the replies! I'm going to get under the car and check bracket alignment and give it another go..past that i'll swap pullies and recheck!

Default AD244 pulley

I found that i had a pulley with the wrong backspacing, it was a quarter inch off which was pushing belt off one tooth. So I ordered the correct one from alternatorparts..then we'll be back in business..hopefully this weekend

still running strong and no electrical issues. GM should have used these as replacents after fbodys went away, just like the Zo6 and truck MAF they use now.

i noticed some unusual wear on my main belt........turns out the pulley that came with my new 200amp monster was 1/16 to tall throwing the belt out 1/16 in alignment.........the pulley that comes on the CS130 and AD244 are the same size (at least mine were) so i just did a quick ( ok it was not so quick ) swap out on pulleys and its all good now


side note......i forgot to unhook the battery when i was pulling out my alt for the swap......the pos terminal on the alt hit the return PS line......it sparked and burnt a hole in the metal line and started a fire....luckily the fire was short lived and did not cause any damage...........spent the next 3 hrs fabbing a new return line from my old high pressure hose.......its not pretty but it is working

the gold pulley is the 1 that came with my new monster alt.....it has the same physical OD.......but the the physical ID is smaller that the stocker.......it is also 1/16 taller than the stocker.....shame i cant use it......it has really tall walls to help with belt retention

Rebuilt mine for 175amp in stock fbody housing. I've rebuilt the stockers to crank out 135amp instead of 105. Stock fbod housings. Never needed 200amp alternators yet

So the other night my battery died (so I thought). I was driving, all of a sudden ABS light comes on. Odd I thought...was just sitting at the light. As I went further down the road, service light, air bag light, etc. started coming on. Pulled into a parking lot, cut it off, and sure enough, all I hear is clicking when I turn it. Lights still worked as well as locks and such. Called, got a jump, got maybe 2 miles up the road and same things started happening, except this time almost completely died right on the road, tach went to zero, started almost accelerating by itself, was really odd. Would barely even lock. Went to get a new battery, fired right up, fine.

Today I'm noticing the battery is looking seemingly low to me. It is below the 13, in the yellow area on the gauge (looks at maybe 11). I'm not sure if this is my alternator, or the battery. The other battery tested to 11.5v or close when we took it out of the car. Now the thing is (just bought the car), it looked like a pretty new battery. Just drove home with the new one, but like I said is showing levels above.

Should I go get my alternator tested?

EDIT: If it makes a difference to, I do have an SLP underdrive pulley.

EDIT: If it makes a difference to, I do have an SLP underdrive pulley.
Your voltage guage reads alternator output, not the battery. So either the signal to your alternator is bad or the alternator is bad. More likely to be the alternator than the signal to it.

If the battery took a dump while driving the alternator would still keep everything functioning.

bought mine form lkq 50 buck came off 2004 suburban works flawless thanks !

My belt looks like it may be a hair forward? It squeaks and when I push it slightly in (I use a screwdriver or ratchet handle while the car is running) it stops squeaking. I push the belt in toward the engine between the alternator and the crank pulley. Being that it stops squeaking when I push it in a hair makes me think the alt pulley sits a hair forward.

SJ do you still have the stock truck alternator. Can you compare the truck pulley to the gold pulley to see if I need to get a F body pulley please?

Ahh ****, guess I have to get a new one now. Just brought it up to the store and returned my old battery for the 12.00 refund, and had them test it. Tested bad. Guess I'll be driving the Jeep for a few days.

EDIT: Went ahead and ordered an eBay one for $60.

Is the ebay alt used? If it's a rebuild don't buy it.

If it's a used one it should be fine. But no way can you get a good quality alternator that is new or rebuilt for $60.

If that doesn't workout call LKQ, they ship, and there is probably one close to you if you wanna go pick one up.

Yeah it is used. They have a bunch of used ones on there from 50-70 or so, this one came with a 6 month warranty for 10 more bucks than the other one so that is why I got it. Will I need that other wire you were talking about in the first post?

You don't absolutely have to replace it, it plugs directly in but I HIGHLY recommend you do change that wire, they do go bad and also you need a hair more length in that wire. I believe you can just pull on the wire and plug it in but that then puts stress on it.

To have the least issues go ahead and replace it.
