The fix for my endless alternator failure's
What type housing should we be looking for to perform this swap?
What vehicles would we most likely find them in?
I'm sorry for asking so many questions, but I want to be sure and avert any screw ups.
To 00pooterSS: If you were to edit your original post and add the answers to some of these FAQ then you could prevent annoying people like me from asking so many stupid questions

It's okay to ask questions but you obviously did not read the thread as you stated.
The original post is edited, and has been many times because of those questions. There are not different cases and all the information needed is in the very first post of this thread. If you don't find what you are looking for ask again, but it's all there. There are even multiple ways listed in the initial post of how to identify it.
There is only 1 4 pin 145 amp KG3 truck alternator. I use a 2003 when I look them up and if you make sure and ask for a 4 pin 145 amp it is the right one..... I have also posted that is most likely to be found on an Escalade or a bigger GM SUV with a lot of electronics. All that plus more is in the first post.

I'll be sure to look specifically for a 2003 tahoe or escalade model.

BTW, if you order one from alternatorparts.com the guy running it knows about putting these on the cars so if you tell him what you are doing he will get you the proper alternator.
Good luck
For what it's worth, KG3 is what will get you what you are looking for at the junk yard, I don't think anyone but an alternator shop will know what an AD244 is. And if you buy one from a parts store that is where I would get into specifics about it being from a 2003 pickup with a 145 amp option and a 4 pin plug. Get ya a new connector while you are there, you will be glad you did.
