Default LS6 Intake and EGR

Hi everyone. I'm interested in putting an LS6 intake on my 2000 Z28. The problem is I am located in California and because of smog laws i'd like to keep my EGR. I am fully aware that SLP makes the LS6 intake with the provision for EGR, but of course we all know that the SLP version is very expensive. My question is can I make a provision for my factory EGR tube in a regular ol' LS6 intake? From the pictures i've seen it looks like its possible to cut a hole in an LS6 intake for the EGR tube and then maybe use some kind of nutsert to attach the collar that holds down the EGR tube to the intake. Thank you everyone for your help in advance.

I've thought about this if I were to move back home to CA and bring my 00 Formula. I think you might be able to cut the attachment piece out of the LS1 intake and glue it on to the LS6. Then you could cut the EGR pipe off so it would attach but not extend into the intake.

This way you could pass visual and you'd pass the sniffer without EGR anyway.

I thought about that as well. Setting something up where the pipe looks to be connected and functional, but it is in fact not functional and has been tuned out via a mail order tune.

Does anybody know if the SLP intake is a completely different intake all together or is it a regular LS6 with a provision cut into it for EGR? Thanks again everyone
