^ Depends on what you're looking for in the long run. Take care of the other supporting mods first before going to the 102 intake. When you're ready for a cam, then do the 102. Or else pick up an LS6 intake for ~$350. You CAN do it on stock internals, it's not going to hurt anything (Just get it tuned)... It's just an expensive setup.

And the LS* blocks can handle quite a bit. The 102 intake comes with a hefty price tag, it just depends on how much you don't mind spending. If you're going to do pistons and whatnot, do an forged LS6 shortblock and top it off with heads and cam of your choice AND the 102 with a new fuel system. -Typically a 255 pump and 42# injectors. Depending...

so is it easy to say with a 102 a STB is a no go? I just got a 102 and im pretty sure that if my 90 fits close the 102 wont work with a STB.

Like it was stated above, no stock STB will clear a 102. However, as soon as my engine is built, (a 402 with a painted 102) 6LE and I are going to modify our STB design so that it will clear the 102.

Get on it and post back with the newer design
