Default Is everyones car as loud as mine

I installed a set of LT's and a ORY this weekend. I have a Borla exhaust with no plates in it. I had a set of shortie headers and a SLP y-pipe with cats. My car is really loud now. I had no idea it would make that much difference. It sounds cool as hell at WOT but just cruising around town it makes me feel like I am driving a car and the muffler has fallen off. Is everyones car that loud?

If you think it's loud you should hear my car. I love car alarms...haha!

I know what you mean. I bought a bullet muffler for my I-pipe. A local exhaust shop welded it in for 50 bucks. Now it's just loud instead of obnoxious.

I've got the same setup on my 99 T/A. It's loud but I'm gonna get the QTP electric cutout so I can control the sound.

Loud is good, to a point. I like a loud 'muffler' system, meaning it's an aggressive, loud muffler, but still running fully through a muffler to tune the note. Wide open borla or SLP LM is too much, IMO, with an ORY....

I bought the car with the exhaust and no plates. Can you buy just the plates?

I have 3 friends with that set up and all have cams also and that makes it even louder. The cars can literally be heard from over a mile away at WOT. Its great.

I have KOOKs LTs, with their 3" catted Y pipe, which uses magnaflow high flow cats. I have a 3" Hooker catback as well, the car is real loud. Loud to me anyways. It's just a loud, "tuned" sound I guess you could say. If I had to do it all over again though, I would have gotten an ORY with dual QTP cutouts, and a Corsa catback. After spending 495 on the catted Y, the Corsa + cutouts wouldn't have been that much more expensive.

Damn it all! Maybe if I come upon some money somehow/somewhere, I can redo that setup to get it perfect.

I must be turning into an old bastard. I don't want it to be that loud. I want it to be reasonable when cruising and loud at WOT.

I have H&C LT's w/no cats & my car is quieter than most stock LS1's w/loud catbacks. The SLP dual/dual works wonders for that sort of thing. I open the cut out if I want loud.

I have the same setup (pacesetter lt's with ORY through open borla) i really like the way it sounds. I thought about putting a plate in after my buddy did, his really didn't get much quiter but it took some of the rasp away, sounds really good. Him and I went WOT almost a mile from my house (out on the access road ((feeder road)) and my sister calls me to ask WTF am i doing. wooooot!
