Default LT1 Radiator Question (for swap)

I was wondering if all 93-97 LT1 Radiators are the same ? I have a 2000 LS1 and want to run the bigger LT1 radiator in it. Just want to make sure they are all the same or is any year better. Also can I just get any LT1 radiator or do I have to find one out of a M6 car (like mine) ?

I just picked one up from Advanced Auto for $180 and change. The one I ordered is out of a 95 TA.

They are both single cores but the core size on the LS part is 15/16" and the LT is like 1 3/8"

I ordered mine from advance auto for $110.. and put it in an 02 SS m6..it's a Ready Rad..Limited Lifetime warranty.. to fit a 96 z28.. just had to snag a low coolant sensor.. it also had the extra cooler on it but I just plugged it up. also comes with a tranny cooler which can easily be capped off since if you don't need it.

The main reason I did the swap is one of my end tanks formed a 2 in. crack.. and the ready rad for an 02 is $274.. so I that was more than enough reason to try the LT radiator.

Here are the specs for the 96 z28 ready rad radiator..

Height (in.): 24 13/16
Length (in.): 17 1/2
Depth (in.): 1 1/4

Specs for the same radiator but for an 02 SS.. for comparison.

Width (in.): 15/16

I got this info from advance auto part's website.. ya can just google it.. don't forget to google..

also, when ordering something online and maybe even in store (not sure about in store) but this is a good website for getting promotional codes and saving a few bones... there's a lot of codes for many different stores.. i've used a few myself..

That is definitely a huge difference..I could understand $10-$20 considering a different area but $70 is insane.. I'm in eastern Kentucky.

So if I go to a junkyard do I need to look for a LT1 radiator out of a M6 or will an auto work. I might be going to "you pull it" just to look around, thought I would ask.

Either one will work, you'll just have to plug the trans cooler ports if you find one out of an A4

you will need a low coolant level sensor as stated above and there is a port on the driver side bottom of the radiator that will need to be plugged... i have a 98 so i already had the coolant sensor and on the other port i used a small piece of heater hose with a bolt in it and 2 hose clamps... you could probably use epoxy too but it would be harder to remove that if you needed to further down the road... as for capping off the trans cooler ports you can just leave the little caps in there that come on the new radiator

Trans cooler is a seperate tank. No plugging required for M6s.
