Default Pacesetter LT install

Just in the interest of getting the info out there:

The install on my pacesetter coated LT's is going great. Everything is pretty much done; now it's on to the muffler shop for true duals!

There were apparantly NO fitment issues at all! No trouble getting them in on either the driver or the passanger side. I figured I would share this in light of all the "pacesetters are crap" threads...

good to know, considering these myself, maybe you have some special install tips for us?? Many people talk about the k-member issue, but I talked to Trevor @ TSP and he said all the ones they have installed there at the shop have been close, but did not hit. I wonder if people are installing them differently perhaps???

Let us know when you get the true dual setup on, i would be interested in your thoughts on the whole setup and pictures if you can take some. I will also be doing an x-pipe dual setup when I get my LT's.

Okay, so the last bolt on the passanger side was really hard to reach. That's all I've heard about in terms of problems. I'll see if I can bring the digital camera and post some pictures.

Keep in mind, many of the problems with pacesetters were with the y pipe, and as I am doing true duals, I do not have a y pipe.

I'll agree that the headers are of good quality. It's their Y pipe that's junk. I have new MANDREL BENT duals for sale $350 that will beat the crap out of the crush bend stuff you'll get from your muffler guy.

The setup is going along nicely. Looks like we're going to have to cut this bar (I think it's the k-member?) because the driver's header may be close enough to rub against it. I've got an SES for one of the rear O2's because we need an extention to plug it in, and for some reason a abs inop (?!?).

I'll be bringing it in next week to handle those issues and to get tips. I'm looking at what are probably truck tips: 4" slash-cut chrome, about a foot long...

Anyone have a clue why the abs would be inop?

the connecter for the left front ABS sensor is kind of close when doing the driver's side header. maybe you unhooked it somehow in the install? i just put my pacesetters and Y on today and other than the K-member touching, it was a pretty easy install. fired it up once with just open headers and got a woody! the Y was a bit tricky, but got it all hooked up to my Corsa and WOW! it's pretty loud now and am kind of scared of what the cops are going to think when i get her this spring. it really echoes of the shop walls. it only took about 4 hours to get her all done, so i was happy. hasn't tripped a rear O2 code yet, but haven't taken it out on the road due to the 2 inches of snow we got yesterday. hope everyone else is as pleased with these headers as i am.

i think after like 65K miles my motor mounts might be shot too so that might be a big part of why they hit on some cars??? When im in getting my heads/cam put in ill spring for some new poly mounts maybe that'll help with clearance...not sure.
