Hmmm. Thanks for the input. I'll have to check that out.

Yup whenever I got really on it, I'd hear it hear it hit and it'd scare the **** out of me like I broke something. When I swapped out my clutch they showed me the tear in my tranny mount and told me that was the culprit. No problems since I went with the poly tranny mount.

Everyone keeps saying 20-30hp, but is that INCLUDING the tune? I guess that's hard to gauge since every tune is slightly different. Are there particular things I should ask to be "tuned"??

I think something is wrong then because my ARH catted Y doesn't bang the floorboard and thats the first I've heard of that happening to someone.

Default Slp header install!!!

just did my header install first ever on ls1 by my self used 2 jack stands and floor jack installed tuned length headers cat-less y pipe slp lm1 out back the install took me 12 straight hours and everything was on just had to put the y and test pipes on finished up the next day as 19 years old and alot of know how i thought that was decent for first time ever of course my dad helped with the y but yea ha, its super super extremely loud rasp isnt bad the has and amazing scream to it love it!!!!!!!, also with e3 plugs tuned by frost with k&n fipk ground clearence isnt bad i have stock ride height and could drive over a beer can standing up, and all the fuss about these headers are extremely bad filiment and shitty ground clearence. i have to disagree they fit very well and clearence is good also i have the older design!!! noticed a major increase from just having lm1 cat back with stock manifolds and cats paid 350 for headers, y, and test pipes used but very new

If your Y pipe bangs the floor boards just clam a piece of rubber to the pipe where it hits. Worked great for me and was a five minute/$3 job.

Yeah, me too. I haven't had time to crawl back underneath and check things out. Hopefully on Sunday. I'll post the board as I figure things out.

Well, I'm going to pick her up tonight... FINALLY!

My guy that installed it said it sounds unreal! In fact, he said in all of the exhausts that he's installed on F-bodies, he says this is going to be the setup that he's going to start recommending given the people have the funds and are willing to shell out the money for it. I cannot wait!

Plus the tune really woke the car up he says, especially in the mid-range, around 35-65mph. He did some adjustments to all the tables, got rid of that annoying skip shift, torque management, etc.

I'm definitely looking to drive this thing!

Finally got back underneath and see that my UMI torque arm (P/N 2205) is resting against the band clamp on the Y. So I think at WOT and high rpm the motor mounts are letting it wobble against the arm. They have a "header" arm, but it looks shorter as well, so I have an inquiry in with them for some advice. I'm concerned a shorter arm might let some brake hop in.

Just to set the record straight, I was able to adjust the banging out without installing poly MMs . Did it by maneuvering the driver's side Y-pipe section.

No dyno near me but full exhaust and tune up gained me 6mph in the 1/8th mile. Tune up probably helped a lot too.

Question

Two questions: I am also considering stepped and am curious why you chose stepped? 2nd, why did you choose ARH's Y-pipe over Kooks?

TIA!

Kooks 1 3/4 x 1 7/8 stepped primaries
ARH ORY-pipe
Corsa Cat-back dual 3.5" tips

While in there, I'm replacing the 02s with the Bosch 13111 corvette sensors, spark plugs and wires and also removing the AIR pump and plumbing. Also have the car tuned on the road immediately after installation of all parts.

Thanks,

Adam
