carb intake for LS1?
carb intake for LS1? my friend is putting a LS1 in his 78 pontiac, i seen a paper of this intake for the LS1, its a carb intake, i was like 
, an aspect that makes the LS1 unique is its EFI setup, fule is injected directly into the cylinders, but with the carb intake, it kinda defeats the purpose of doing a LS1 swap on the car from the begining

next car i have is getting a carb'd LS1. and it's gonna be a 4th gen f-bod too. to each their own. just gonna do it for ***** and giggles. GMPP has an intake and i think Edelbrock has an intake that comes with some sort of timing device to work with the coils.

well, the EFI setup in the LS1 "aims" the injector into the cylinder in a way so it directly sprays into the cylinder when the intake valve is open, dont quote me on this though

i can garrenty you that a open plenum carbed intake will out flow any other ls1 intake out there. it is very hard to beat the flow and performance of an unrestriced carburator. this is why all the fast cars have them. ofcoarse you will loose driveablity and gas milage though. it just depends on what he wants to do with it.

Quite honestly, I'd expect the carb'd LS1 to lose a fair amount of low speed torque while REALLY delivering up top.

single The GMPP intake is a single plane. I have been trying to find more info on it too, but no luck yet. Here is a pic of it:

Forgot to add : it also has bosses to weld the injector bungs in. A nice 2000cfm throttle body, 8 injectors, and a FAST or Holley ECU and wonder how much power it would make?!?!?!
I tried the part# on the intake at Gm Parts Direct but it came up with nothing.
