early ls1 vs late ls1 what are the diff between 98 and 99 ls1 vs the later 2000 and 2002 ls1's? i know the head gasket and head design whre diffrent but is there anything else? performance diffrences?

01, 02s were slightly faster. better int, ex, heads and different cam for better low end.

later ls1's (2001-2002) had stronger rod bolts and ls6 intakes. all years had different cams. 1997-1998 were the only years for the perimeter bolt heads

so 98 and 99 where slower? that sucks consdiering i just bought a 98. what kind of power loss are we talkin here? would it be more equal if i got the better ls intake?
