i got that ls6 valley cover coming in soon, thanks a ton for all the info, i will let yall know how the install goes so we can clear some **** up, well for an 02 camaro anyways.

LS6 cover.......scoggins....80$ includes gasket and bolts
LS6 steam tubes (2) scoggins.....30$ (each)
OPSU 80$....dealer ..........yes i broke it
knock sensors (2) auto zone.....45$ (each)
hose from VC to intake...dealer....3$
button head VC bolts ......ebay....15$
button head bolts for steam tubes.....ace hardware......10$....(ouch)

This is how mine is setup on my LS2, but its the same as the LS1/6 with the LS6 valley cover. For a LS1 you just need to block off the rear fittings.
The LS2 valley cover is different than the LS6 cover...

the LS2 cover does not have the holes for the knock sensors, as both your pics show... compare with pics in posts #41, #51.

this matters if installing on an LS1.
