Default PCV and hoses rotted out

had the heads off of the camaro last weekend, when i was putting it back together i noticed that the PCV valve and the hoses running from valve cover to valve cover were cloged and rotted out, i need to get these replaced, but right now they are capped off, i figured if it ran fine with them cloged then it would run just as fine with them plugged.

Has anyone else had this problem, and where can i get the new hoses?

thanks in advance

-Austin

true but if you want the stock look and know the PCV lines don't hurt you enough to make a difference, the stock lines are the way to go

i just got the new style ls6 valley cover....it is cheaper than a new pcv hose setup.....and it eliminates the pcv totally.....no worries about a expensive hose rotting out and creating a vacum leak was the seal of the deal for me

umm yea if you are going to spend $90 on pcv, it might as well be the LS6 valley cover from GMpartsdirect and the little grommets you need. There is a write up on LS1HowTo on how to do the swap, it is very simple.

Why would you want the stock look PCV anyways, it looks like **** and its more hoses to worry about and move out of the way when your working on the car.

with the PCV lines you don't need to pull off the intake manifold and worry about that sending unit back there

any person who can follow a write up loosely can easily do this.. quit trying to make it seem like such a big deal because you spent ur money on worthless stock PCV when you could have had better..
OP good choice on the LS6 valley cover.. it is not that hard as some think it might be.. it takes 10 minutes and you can do it blindfolded...

i've never seen any proven gain from goin to the LS6 valley cover. yeah it takes 10 minutes to switch em out . . . once you get the manifold off. if you've pulled an intake a few times you can get it off in 25-30 minutes, but for others it'll take longer to just get the manifold off.

op good luck with gettin it done and gettin the car back up and running!
