Default LS6 v FAST 90 or 92 Intake

What the advantages of spending the extra 200-400 dollars for a FAST?

My set up right now is 220 cam, 317 heads, headers, full exhaust, tune... Just looking for some opinions and facts. If anyone has an ls6 or fast there looking to get rid of pm me.

thanks

The fast 90/92 setup will gain more HP but it's not cheap. The intake alone is $300-400 more then the LS6. But then you need a new TB and that's another $300-$400 more. For a big cam and high flowing heads I say it's not even a question. You get a fast 92 or 102 setup and tune it to perfection. But for a smaller camshaft and 317 heads I'm not sure the gains will be enough to warrant the cost.

LS6 intake & port your existing TB will net good gains for minimal $$$. Probably the way I would go with your setup. BUT.........If you think you might decide to go bigger on the cam someday then I would spend the money now on the fast 92 with TB. That way you are not spending money twice on intakes.

Good luck.

Thanks for the input, yea i'll more than likely be going with the ls6 intake. Is a ls6 intake with viper 42 lb injectors and rails for 500 way too much?

thanks

I like the 42lb injectors. Makes you N20 ready if the desire to spay a 100 shot ever becomes too hard to resist

Your cam is borderline. I think the gains for a 92/92 setup will be there to justify it but only if you get the car tuned after. Without a tune you may as well stick with the LS6. You also need to keep in mind it's nice having room to grow. If you get a fast 92/92 now you're already good if you decide to go heads or get a big cam like the ms3 somewhere down the road. I went with the fast because I didn't want to have a nagging feeling that I left power on the table. But I go to the track a lot so every HP means a lot to me.

You dont need a tune for the FAST to make power. I dropped mine on without a tune and picked up 21rwhp (over LS2). The FAST is good for 10-15hp over the LS6.

Although, both the LS6 and the FAST would benifit more from a proper tune.

I'm swapping out my LS6 for a Fast as soon as I get the Fast back from getting ported. The Fast are definitely on the spendy side no doubt. Hit me up if you are looking for a LS6/ported polished TB as mine will be for sale here soon.
