That is a very nice looking system. I'm curious to see how the fitment is when people start installing them.

The price is relative; I knew someone who bought a Mugen catback for his Integra that was like $900. And that was just a catback with 2.5" piping.

Do any sponsors plan on offering package deals with the headers and TDs? Or for those with the headers already maybe a package between the safety loop, panhard relocation, and TD's? Didnt realize that the safety loop and panhard relocation is another $300+..

sorry, but after seeing the header price, and the price of this exhaust system, it makes me think...

Kooks = Crooks

Nice stuff, but they are waaaayyyy too proud. No exhaust for our cars is worth $3000!!! +/-

for that price I expect my **** to be made out of Platinum!!!

seriously though... it's actually INSULTING to me for them to think I'm that much of a dumbass to fork over 3k for headers and Exhaust...

Mugen has been known to be retardedly high for everything.

Because they go on engines that are so small. It is more difficult to get equivalent gains in HP from a catback system, therefore they require more R&D.

Ever look at aftermarket pipes for sportbikes? Lots of money for justa few HP.

Call us. We are one of the biggest Kooks dealer out there. You will not pay near $3K for headers and exhaust. Call 443-730-9428 and ask for Branden.

I can see spending 2700$ on that exhaust plus headers - hell i need it, high quality Y-pipe cat back will not flow what i need and i hate cut-outs.

Will be seeing this baby in a few months with a pair of 2" to 3.5" to reducer cone headers

Something about having an exhaust system that is worth 20% or more of your cars value...lol

Looks like a great system but it's definitely designed for a niche market. Most people who are modding 4th gens these days are going to be young kids who can't drop that kind of dough.

I just don't think the HP per dollar is worth it. Unless they can prove some substantial gains over a y-pipe setup (which over the years on this forum I have never seen done by anyone) they can keep it.

Not denying that it looks really nice.

True, but the Kooks setup has sharper bends in the intermediate pipe in front of the x as opposed to the TSP y being smoother there.

The piping is going to be bent the same amount to get the x-pipe in the necessary location to run duals.

True, but the Kooks setup has sharper bends in the intermediate pipes in front of the x and off the collectors as opposed to the TSP y being smoother there.

The piping is going to be bent the same total amount of degrees to get the x-pipe in the necessary location to run duals. I'm not sure that where it is bent really matters much though. You need to look at the whole system. TSP is also shorter and therefore lighter. I don't think you'll see anyone really serious about raceweight running the Kooks setup. I've raced a guy with the TSP duals and to be honest, it was the best sounding exhaust I've ever heard. Definitely better than the sound clip they have in their vid.

I would be running the TSP duals if my car wasn't so low, and wasn't going to be left with big gaping holes in the bumper cover of my Trans Am where my tips are at.

Kooks should send a set to GMHTP so they can install it and do some before and after dyno tests of this system over a conventional y setup. That may get people to bite if it can demonstrate some reportable gains.

Its a very nice set-up. But no reason to slam anyone who buys it. If we can then we will. Alot of trailer queens would love to have it, I personally would run it everyday no matter what the weather. So I guess since I have the means to buy it I would be considered a "dumb ***". But hey its whatever- some of us buy things for cars we dont own yet.

Question

Hmm, is this compatible with a Watts Link?

How does this compare to the Bassani true dual system?

A BMR Driveshaft Safety Loop Part#DSL001 and a BMR Panhard Rod Relocation Kit Part# PHR004 are required when installing this system.

Man if I had that system, I would want to add in a pair of No Weeds Diverters then you would have it all, and rock on!
