Default I have a FAST 102

What's the deal with fuel lines for the billet rails? The kit from FAST seems like a good deal. I can get it for $158 shipped and it includes a gauge.

I added up all the stuff separately. I figured I could put my own kit together and save money, but it works out costing more. So I figure I'll just get the FAST fuel line kit. Has anyone used this kit? Did it fit well? No leaks? Here's a pic:

Make sure they are teflon cores and not synthetic rubber - if they are the latter, you will have fumes from the gas breaking down the lines. I'm getting to replace every single braided line in my fuel system because I didn't know this a couple years ago when I put them in...the fumes suck.

Good info.. how do you tell the difference by just looking at them?

You would not be able to tell unless the hose ends were off and you could see the cross-section of the line. You can get teflon core line with a stainless braid outer that looks identical to the synthetic rubber core stuff, so just looking at that picture isn't a good indicator.

I plumbed my car with Earl's Perform-o-flex line (at least I think it was)...it was fine at first, but after a while, I really started to notice the heavy fuel smell. Put your nose next to any of the lines, and BINGO...

It is probably worse on mine because I replumbed the system to use a regulator up front, so I have braided lines in the back running from the hard lines to the tank, and the lines you can see up front in the pic below:

With that amount of lines, I'm sure that's why I smell it as much as I do. That also means it'll be that much more fun to replace them all with the right lines...I love buying **** twice.

I have also used this setup at least 4-5 times now and never had an issue. It think it looks like a really clean setup when you done. I dont know what anyone would want to change, its a "bolt on" that requires no thinking at all. Plus its cheap!

This may be a silly question, but how do you connect the stock fuel line to this rail? As you know the OEM rail/line uses a snap fitting, i dont see provisions for this setup on the aftermarket rail

On my car that fitting required a bit of force and some cursing before it would click into locked position.

You have to put the plastic part on first, then slide the fitting over it. If you try to do it all at once its a pain....

I did that and it was still a PITA. A little grease in the right spot might have helped too. She was a tight.

That's why I only use Aeromotive fittings for those...the Russel ones I tried before had this exact same problem, but the Aeromotive fittings just slip right on. Sadly, they are 2-3 times the price

Call Nasty Performance. I just got his fuel rail/injector/pump kit for my LS6 intake and almost bought a fast 102 for a super cheap deal this summer and called him about it and he had everything ready to go for a 102

plus you can get the rails in a lot of different colors
