Going from True Duals to Y and GMMG
I have had my duals for several years now and I want to change my setup. I love the way my exhaust sounds now, but the drone at cruise RPMs is getting old and I'm tired of dragging my exhaust on driveway entrances and other things that I would clear in any other car with no problem. I've kept the car stock ride height for this reason. I have tried running pipes out the back with them and they just don't sound the same. So, I'm going to a Y-pipe/catback setup.
I had this in mind, reuse my jet hot headers, cut off the three bolt flanges, have my friend custom fab me a slip fit 3" y-pipe, use the mufflex y-pipe hanger, a flowmaster 3" to 3.5" merge collector with a flowmaster 3.5" to 3" reducer venturi into the GMMG. I plan to do some sort of CME exhaust setup as well, haven't decided.
What I would like to know is, who makes quality band clamps that I can use for my y-pipe to header connection? Who makes a panhard bar relocation kit? When I first got my car, I put a 3" flowmaster catback on it(big mistake I know ) and I had little to no clearance over the axle around the panhard bar. It squeaked and rattled from time to time and I do not want to dimple my new GMMG exhaust to clear this area.
If anyone has video clips of a bolt-on automatic car with a similar exhaust setup, I would love to hear it.

Here's all I could find on my computer. Forgive the gravel sounds, it was an impromtu video I made on my paren'ts farm.....and lawn. Just a bolt on TA with American Racing headers and y-pipe, GMMG, and a 30 inch stainless works muffler in the i-pipe to help with rasp.

now let me ask you this...have you ever been riding behind your car when it's at WOT? try giving your keys to somebody you trust and let them floor it, see how it sounds.

Here it is before I had the muffler put in the i-pipe. The rasp was unreal at normal driving rpm's. Listening to the radio was almost impossible and forget trying to answer a phone so that's why I put the muffler in.
PS: I know it was a shitty burnout.
