Default FAST or a 9 inch

Ok I just bought a set of PRC 215s and a MS4 for my Trans Am. Now I'm wondering what my next investment should be. Either a FAST 102 or a 9 inch rearend. I want the intake but I'm afraid that as sure as I buy it my rearend will explode and I'll be broke down. The car will see the track occasionally but It'll be on street tires for a while. What do you guys think? Thanks

Just a little info I have the MS4 and stage 1 LS6 heads that are soon getting swapped out for the 227's. When I had mine tuned I left a little power on the table due to my injectors being maxxed along with an LS6 intake. I'm also upgrading to the Fast 92 and I think 42lb injectors. Ill try and squeeze a 9 inch in there somewhere

i say 9in. i guess i cant say its cheap insurance, but it is insurance..if you wanna make power, gotta be able to put it to the ground...RELIABLY...i had a stock 10bolt with a ms4cam, and 100 shot and craked the carrier in half and punched a hold in the diff cover :\

If it ain't broke then don't fix it. My vote goes towards a Fast intake other then the 102. Look for a used 90 or 92.

Why spend money where it's not needed? I've seen guys punish 10 bolts and last a long time. Put the money towards an intake espesially if you are doing a H/C combo.

Build your car and then replace the rear if needed or when the time comes. Give the 10 bolt some respect and stop being a bunch of school girl pussies. I've been running over 400 at the rear N/A and over 500 with the juice on my stock 10 bolt for years.

break the 10 before you buy a rear...if you're in the market or have $$$ burnin a hole in your pocket, i'd check out the S60 too. dont put the cart before the horse. unless you're pounding the car every weekend runnin the 1320 doing 5k dumps, save your money and look to spend money in makin some mo'power. plenty of guys running the hell out of their 10's. an intake makes more sense.

regular track use a better rear makes sense. otherwise go with a FAST.

I would go with the rearend first, I actually wish that was the first thing I did, that combo will make pretty good power ,you don't want to baby around on the 10 bolt, you will have more fun with the rear.I'm waiting on the fast for last.yeah you for sure should get a fast ,but I would rather keep the ls6 intake and have a good gear in there ,than have a fast intake and a ticking time bomb for a rear, just my 2 cents

braking the rear can destroy the trans,I say get the 9".if you get the intake you need a tune also and probably need bigger injectors, and a fuel rail..you can sell your 10 bolt if it still works.

He's doing heads/cam anyway he will need bigger injectors and a tune regardless, upgraded fuel rail is def not needed for his power level.. OP my vote goes to the FAST intake.. put that one on sell the ls6 and put that money toward a new rear end..

if you are gonna go with a rear end then you might as well go with the best one. get a strange S60, vs the 9"
