Default magnaflow muffler question

hello everyone, i am about to buy a magnaflow cat back for my 02 ws6, but everywhere i read they are one of the best flowing but are too quiet. my question is this. could you swap out the muffler on the magnaflow, keeping it tame but a little more aggressive with out effecting the flowing ability of the magnaflow.or keep the magnaflow and use the cut outs when i want to me loud or maybe keep the stock exhaust and change out that muffler. I am going with tsp lts, with a catted y. and an electric cut out or 2. just looking for some advice.

thanks in advance
Bruce

You can try to make it fit, but you would need the exact size to make it fit. If i were you i would go with the Hooker catback instead of magnaflow. Hooker would probably be as quiet/tame at idle as the magnaflow but it sounds waaaaay better. Hooker has a more deeper, rumble muscle car sound to it. I think magnaflow has a smooth crisp sound.

I just got rid of my magnaflow for TSP Duals and the duals hands down blows magnaflow away. Magnaflow is a popular choice on here cuz its stainless steel for a darn good price, and its not very loud and obnoxious.

i had magnaflow on another cammed car... personally i think it sounded like it was popping popcorn but thats just me. the muffler is defn quieter that other catbacks. I will be buying a borla or a custom true dual set up in the future.

I run magnaflow on my 2000 TA and with long tubes , punched out cats and it can be quiet but gets aggressive when you lay into it. Had SLP loud mouth but heads and cam made that unbearable.....

I wonder how that banks one flows/sounds, i might give it a try since it's a direct fit and only $25 I'll just polish it up before I put it on lol

The hooker catback flows very well. The magnaflow necks down to 2.5" internally on the inlet side. FWIW

No crossflow muffler is going to flow as well as a normal style muffler. If it was me and i wanted to stay with the crossflow stuff i would go mufflex 4" system with their y pipe.
