Default best exhaust

Im looking at a few different brands of catbacks, and im wondering, out of the ones im looking at, which ones have the best flow and sound?

Im looking at either the magnaflow, hooker, or loudmouth 2?

right now my car is all stock, but I eventually plan on putting headers and intake on.

Do a search on the Hooker catbacks. I believe Damian (sp?) started a thread awhile ago about the terrible quality and fitment issues of the Hooker catbacks as of late. A few other people have not been happy with the quality of recent Hooker products either.

I like my Magnaflow a lot. My car is a DD so I like to have it toned down in the lower RPM range, but it opens up nicely in the upper RPM range. I figured this would be a nice characteristic since I am adding LT's and ORY this spring. Only thing I was disappointed with on my Magnaflow was the fitment of the hangers, but it was a 15min fix with a cutoff wheel and tig welder so no big deal.

Best exhaust is a subjective question. Make a list in order of what characteristics you most desire in a catback, do a search on here, check out ls1sounds.com, and make a decision. Good luck.

Xpipe with one chambers is by far the best sounding and flows amazing as well. This is not opinion, it is fact.

loudmouth 2 with LT's sounds badass. Just make sure you use a catted Y pipe.

Magnaflow is quite, but sounds good imo, even with a cam ,longtubes, ory still pretyy quite,lm2 is the loudest of the 3,I would say stay catted y but I hate cats,a lot of people like hooker but I have never heard it in person, my first mod was a lm1 big mistake, sounded great when stock, but after cam, heads, longtubes, ory it was crazy loud and lots of rasp,

Really hard to answer this as everyone has a different opinion on sounds, but flow wise all of those will be close to the same. I would go with the LM1 myself, but run a catted y-pipe with it. Second choice would be the Magnaflow, a distant third would be the Hooker as they sound like *** to me. I'm going Borla adjustable with a cutout, LTs, and an ORY myself. Quiet when I want it, eardrum shattering loud when I mean business

x2 all the catbacks you mentioned will flow the same and make similar power. It all comes down to preference and what sound you like. Alot of guys like the LM1 sound but once they add LT's they hate it b/c its loud and raspy. So it really all depends on what you like, I would check around locally and see if you can find people with different exhausts so that you can hear them in person.

If OP has a 6 speed car I think he could keep it quite though.

unfortunately, it is not a 6 speed, its an auto.

I really like the way the loudmouth 2 sounds on videos. i want to be loud enough to turn heads , but i dont want it to the point where it sounds like ****. i like loud, just has to have good tone to it as well.

i like the sound of GMMR(i believe thats what it is) but the price tag is too high for me

Out of those i would go with Hooker catback. Magnaflow and Hooker are on the quieter side. But hooker i think sounds more meaner and has a more muscular sound than magnaflow.

But TSP Duals owns all..
