Its pretty simple. It dumps right before the axle. Just weld a bullet muffler to the straight part of the Y and put a turn down on it. Done.

I wonder what has a better sound -- one in the I-pipe, or two in the Y-pipe?

Ya could use one of these:

The main advantage of a dumped bullet off the y is performance. It saves weight and space. It is cheap and simple. The main disadvantage is it doesn't sound good. This seems to be a characteristic of the LSX firing order. Mine is raspy - nothing like the desired V8 rumble. Ok for a race-only car. No good for a street-driven car.

I dunno..Ive got a 80 series muffler and that is some tame ****. The moroso off the y that i have heard sounds pretty damn deep and good, when stepped on it sounds pretty gnarly though.. It seems alot more tame than a cutout..

fianlly some resonable answer! to the OP why do u want dumped? i dont see the point of it on dd car. get a nice sounding muffler or catback and call it a day. it will sound louad raspy and DRONE like sh*t. loud n raspy are ok for some but drone is really a pita lol.

Here is my set-up. I run Hooker LT into a Hooker ORY into a Dynomax Bullet w/turdown. I think It sounds really good and gives a real mean sound too the car. Scares the **** outta all the imports around my area.

Heres a pic:

Well, I want the most free flowing exhaust I can of course. It's also a fairly cheap route, otherwise I'd be having TDs.. The few that I heard I thought sounded pretty good and alot more tame and deep than a cutout. I don't really care for the flowmaster anymore I liked it and it's deep but really tame and almost restrictive sounding, I want to switch it up now.. But that's why I wanted to get a better feel of it cause I did searches and didn't find too much on here to listen to or see.

Thanks for the posts and experience info keep it coming good or bad!

Powersticks do not.
There's nothing in them, and they don't neck-down much at all.

+1 to sounding good

I have shorties into ORY with a dynomax bullet dumped and alot of people say it sounds mean, I'm used to it now so I can't really tell but tts about as loud as a straight pipe but it doesn't have that shitty cackle and raspy sound. I'll try to get a vid up next week when its clear out.

I went with a dumped exhaust when I installed my Watts link, since my muffler was in the way, plus I wanted the additional clearance above the Axle tube for my lowered ride height, and the cleaner look of no pipes in the rear!
I liked the way my mine sounded!
FYI, don't point the turn-down straight down(180*) turn it to the side some, any where from 150* minimum, to 100* maximum if possible without pointing it directly on anything you don't want the exhaust heat directly on. Putting it at a angle will cut down on drone.
Here's what I just removed, to go with a slightly different (dumped) setup.

My new setup will have a 5" case, 3" in/out Magnaflow muffler into a 90*L shaped pipe with a turn down pointing almost straight back (probably around 110*).
