i notice alot of people in this thread complaining about rasp with a y. Most of that is causeb by off the shelf y-pipes with shitty merges. A good merge will kill basically all rasp. My y with 3"in/4" out flowmaster mege IS NOT RASPY. But it is very loud and drone was horrible cruising down the highwy but that comes with any dumped exhaust, duals or a y

Maybe if the FM merge was available in stainless I would consider it -- what's the stainless steel alternative?

I just sold my SLP LM this week. Got my Borla bullet in the mail today. I ordered it BEFORE I planned on selling the LM. I was going to convert it to the BorlaMouth, didn't happen.

I popped the Borla on the end of my stock Y-Pipe tonight. It sounded better than the LM and it wasn't tightened down or anything. In the morning I'm buying 2 clamps and a small turndown. This will hold me over until I decide on Headers/TD's. Can't beat it for about 120 bucks total and removing over 25 pounds from the car.

I currently have my exhaust dumped off the y pipe and really do not like it. I'm going back to a full exhaust but with ARH ory and TSP rumbler 3" catback.

Bolted the Borla up this evening, instead of having it just hanging there. So, I was able to drive it around the block.

I can honestly say a Borla straight off the Y-pipe sounds better than my SLP LM. The LM was all the way out the back, Borla doesn't even have the turndown yet! I might hold off on the TD's for awhile and give this a try

I wouldnt mess with a dumped y unless i was doing 4" out. Im no physics expert but it seems like 2, 3" pipes slamming into 1, 3" pipe would not flow very well which is why i went with a 4" out merge

I don't no about anybody else, but I would say ground clearance!
I'd love to do a nice dumped True Dual exhaust, if I wouldn't lose any ground clearance!

with a cutout air is still going to flow through to the exhaust, it will not go 100% through the cutout..

having personally owned both a cutout setup and an open y the open y was WAY louder.

hmmm, this is interesting. I'm thinking about doing this, but i need to do my homework on it. Is anyone running long tubes and cats with their dumped y?

EDIT: nevermind about the LT's and cats question, i did a little searching and found that TSP makes a catted y pipe

That is conditional on WHICH electric diverter is used -- there is NO flow through the exhaust with the No Weeds Diverter, due to it's DOUBLE BUTTERFLY valves -- some say that means it's "over-engineered".

I have seen and heard a dual diverter setup on the 2010 Camaro at Nickey Chicago -- so sweet.
