Default Shortys or Long Tube

I have an 02 T/A Just trying to decide what to do for headers. I Already have magnaflow Stainless Cat back waiting to be instaled but want to do headers and elliminate cats at all at once. Want to go all Stainless, just trying to decide if i should get the shortys to bolt right on the old y-pipe or take it all off and do longs tubes. Which way is more cost effective for performance? Are Long tubes worth the extra buck

The 01/02 OEM manifolds are pretty good as is. Shorties wouldn't help much.

It's either LT's or stay stock. Don't spend the money on shorties.

I agree. Longtubes or nothing. You won't notice a difference with shorties with the 01/02 manifolds.

I would definitely go with the Long tubes. I have seen many dyno test that show little to no hp gain with shorties vs. the stock exhaust manifold.

I had Kooks 1 7/8 long tubes with their off road y and a magnaflow cat back on my '98 T/A which are now on my '02 WS6, no reason to go with shorties in my opinion.

Like everyone is stating, long tubes or leave it stock mani's. You don't get the scavaging effect with shorties like you do with LT's. That's where the power difference is.

You sound like satan in Garden of Eden. Lol.

Anyway, get TSP LT's and get their ORY as well. My car definitely picked up some good power from running those. Make sure you put in some NGK TR55's in at the same time!

I think this should become the standard response to every new "should I get LTs or shorties" thread...
