slammed camaro, what headers to get?
i got an 01 ss which is lowered almost 2.5 inches. I want to put headers with duals but i know clearance will be an issue. What are my options? go with mid lengths?

I'm lowered 2"+ and have Pacesetter longtubes. It's really not bad. Just no steep curves/speed bumps obviously. If your going for performance/horsepower 1 7/8 longtubes are the best choice.

i think it's the SLP headers that don't quite tuck as well as the others.....they're ok for a stock ride height car, but lowered ones have trouble with them.......i'm lowered almost 2" and my pacesetters are fine......like SSmoked said, might as well go with the 1 7/8 TSP's if you can afford the extra coin

i was lowered about the same with skinnys on the front
i had pacesseters, they scraped on stuff if your not precocious but if you careful with speedbumps and driveways you should be fine
btw my girlfriend drove the car periodically, so that shows you it not that bad lol

Any decent quality header won't pose a problem with ground clearance...the lowest part is going to be the y/x-pipe just after the header collector, especially on the driver's side since that portion of the pipe will either need to be flattened or dip down to get under the frame.

NO! I have SLP headers on a dropped car and the clearance is HORRID! DON'T DO IT!
But a buddy of mine went with ARH headers and he said he's actually got BETTER clearance with those than with his stock setup! ARH LT's and catted Y for his setup.

Stainless works has the best ground clearance of any long tubes period, you cant see my headers or my custom duals without looking under the car,I'll post pictures when I can. Oh BTW! Stainless works Headers are not cheap but excellent quality and are supposedly one of the best flowing headers on the market!

I have the TSP ORY. I would recommend against it just because the ground clearance is really bad for a lowered car. Mine fit decently, but hangs down a good bit, I actually flattened a few spots on the driver side in order to tuck it up a little better.

i have the tsp headers and ory and i dont hit any thing with them. im not lowered 2.5 just 1.5 with strano springs but i get in and out of stuff just fine.
