Wrong section BTW. Should be the Texas section.

Yeah, OP you shouldn't have any issues here. They normally plug into your car to make sure you don't any any "not ready" codes. If you don't have an SES light on, you should be fine with what you have

Not out here in Odessa /Midland it wont pass. If You don't have cats it will fail. Trying to find a hot rod friendly inspection station now

Anywhere in Texas will probably fail you for not having cats. However, here in DFW, I've never been to a shop that even looked under the car.

Here in Tarrant County (Fort Worth) we have emissions compliant testing, on our cars (since they are OBD2) what they do on inspection is plug their computer in to our ecm, and read it. If the Ecm says everything is working and all the cars safety equip. is working, and you have current insurance YOU PASS. I had mine inspected with this stroker (running rich) No Cats, LT Headers, ORY, And a Texas Speed Rumbler cat back system on it, and its LOUD. Passed no problem, but my ecm has been tuned deleting the rear O2 sensors (thats what allows you to delete the cats and not throw codes), My A I R system and EGR have also been deleted. NOW had the inspector been willing to lay on his face and look under the car, He would have seen no Cats, and visually failed my car. But as long as my ECM told his computer everything was good,,, he was satisfied.

What part of south texas are you moving to. Always had someone to go to for a friendly inspection in the corpus christi area. Most the cars around here have no cats.

state inspections are about to tighten up, apparently there aren't enough d.o.t. employees to monitor the stations, so state troopers are going to be going out to stations and checking in on things and watching. shouldn't change the way things are done too much, but some places are likely to become more cautious for lack of a better word. just thought i'd pass along some information.

I will be moving to Liberty county.. I think I'm gonna get some cheap, eBay cats and gut them just in case they decide to ever do a visual inspection.. I don't have an SES light on since my rear o2s have been deleted.. So, with that, I'll be good considering what you guys are saying..

If you plan on buying cats and gutting them, JUST buy the non- catalytic converters look em up on th inet, even on ebay,,they are a straight pipe on the inside and look like a full cat on the outside and they are way cheaper than the cheapest cat, and you dont have to worry about gutting anything, just weld em in and your done.

Stay away from the Austin/ surrounding area they use a computer, and will detect any codes your computer will throw out. (that is if you have any MIL issues)
