Default stripped bolt hole

well in the process of putting headers on my car i stripped the middle bolt hole into the head. this is due to the fact im trying to do this by my self and didnt have the bolt straight when i went to tighten it up. i took it out and blew out the hole however the bolt threads were flattened. i tried a different bolt however it done the same thing. any ideas?

Did you start the bolt by hand?

have you tried chasing yet? alot of times just chasing threads will fix minor issues.

With a tap. no i dont have one. one set of tool i really need to invest in i guess. never had this problem before. Will it hurt it to keep tightening?

The bolt goes in however its harder then the other ones and like i said it just flattens the threads. however no metal from the head.

Dont tighten it down buddie.
I did the same thing and the damn bolt just wouldnt go in. I got fed up of scewing in and out so many times I decided to just tighten it down. Long story short...my under $500 full exhaust plan ended up costing me more like 2k. Had to take the car to a shop to get the bolt out. Nightmare city

I'm new to the LS1's... are the bellhousing bolt holes metric or standard thread? This is probably a dumb question....
