Default What was your LT ORY setup first impression

What was your first impression of your Lt ory setup?
Were you really impressed?
Was the difference REALLY noticiable?
Were you satisfied with sound quality?
Any regrets?

Or do you just like to say you have them? No big difference, just another mod

I gotta know!!!

My first setup was on my old 98 z28 I had dynatech lts, Dynatech y pipe with straight pipes no cats, Magnaflow, and all stainless. First impression was "damn this thing smells like gas!" I dont remember if I felt any extra power but I could tell the sound. Especialy WOT going under bridges!
I have Pacesetters, TSP ORY, and Borla now. The quality of course isnt as good as the stainless but I like the sound of Borla better.

When I first got the car it had ebay LT and ebay ory. I liked it but decided to change to true duals. I liked the duals but had clearance issues. Went back to ARH 1 7/8" headers and ARH ORY and absolutely LOVE it more so then the duals

From a stop....not much.

From a roll....yes, I felt like it was a train, just kept gaining momentum. I loved my LTs....god the ground clearance sucked.

Worth it!

My first impression with my LT/ORY & GMMG was that it sounded awesome at idle. My second impression driving around was that the rasp and loudness were intolerable! I ended up doing cats and a bunch of other stuff to tame the sound. Finally I ditched it all and did a new ORY with Hooker Maxflow and I love it.

The power difference is unmistakable throughout the rpm band and I gained probably .25 or so in the 1/4.

Def. notice a sound difference, as far a power not a huge difference but did notice it pulling harder top end. If you go into it with expectations of N2O or a turbo you will be disappointed but for a bolt on def. worth the money. Ive always looked at headers as more of a supporting mod. Although by themselves they do make a noticeable difference the more mods you do (cam or FI) the more the headers will help.
And I would say a tune is the most overlooked aspect of headers. Although you can run them without a tune and many people do if they see bigger mods in their future a tune is necessary for the car to perform at its full potential.

my first impression with Pacesetter's and Pacesetter ORY was, "Damn, the y-pipe is hitting the bottom under my seat".......shortly after i switched to TSP true duals with sweet thunders and haven't looked back.....no major clearance issues and i'm lowered almost 2 inches, it's all on how you adjust it during install

My first impression was me driving with them open to CMS to get my custom y pipe and 4 exhaust done. I had to stay under control I even passed a cop and it was VERY loud. After getting the exhaust on I also had done a Fast 90/90 at the same time but I noticed a pretty good difference. The biggest seat of the pants and speed difference I have felt so far was my torque converter which I did before the headers so I was not as impressed with the headers as I was the converter.

Sounds like everyones kinda in the same boat......I mostly want them for the sound, and just to say I have them.....alittle hp is a plus too..My only worry would be a raspy sound..my catback sounds flawless right now as is....I just worry about having to put bullets in, or getting a catted y-pipe, all that ****....hopefully it will sound good the first time and I don't have to keep tweeking it.....I thought catted y and flowmaster merge right off the rip to PRE-vent any sound discomforts...we'll see I guess.

I had ARH's, hiflow cats, and LS6 manifold installed at the same time. I got to the shop and he was getting ready to dyno tune it. The first dyno pull I was like OMG that sounds awsome. And yes I can feel 25 hp.

As far as my cat delete it felt like I lost a little low end, but it sounded throatier. No big difference in power. LT install I didn't notice much. Was louder, but I agree down low I didn't notice it. Mid to high end yeah I noticed it.

Get a Flowmaster merge and put a powerstick muffler in the intermediate pipe. That should get rid of the rasp and make it sound amazing.

I was thinking catted y, flowmaster merge first....If that's too raspy I'll try the I-muffler/bullet...and yes that was me at last summers competition..******* crazy 10 week diet for that one..but it paid off

I installed a set of hooker 1-3/4 on my car with the Hooker ory and Magnaflow catback and hated the rasp and I also hated the ratteling of the slip fit pipe. So I took the car to a muffler shop and had them cut out all the slip fit crap and weld in flanges but it was still to raspy for me. I then had them build me a true dual system and installed that on the car with the magnaflow bullets and it sounded great from there..

I thought their were spacer cushions or whatever you want to call them to prevent the ory from hitting the bottom of the car..
