slp blackwing help :(
I also need the length of the boot from end to end of a stock factory slp blackwing boot.
If anyone can help, i would greatly appreciate it. Hopefully this can even help a few people down the road when theres rips like mine. And no duct tape will not be the answer to this problem
lol thanks!! Im still curious if someone does make a silicone transition or something. this sucks that SLP doesnt make them anymore
The 'magic-tape' silicone stuff.
I've used it for many things & it really does work.
Have ya found anyone to make one, or found one that'll work?
I know a local business that specializes in products like this boot.
I'll have to tale a spare unit over there with the lid & MAF & see what it'd cost to make a few.
Might be costly to hand make each one.
Found this on ebay, looks a little ridiculous. but would you happen to know the size of a stock LT1 throttle body outer diameter?

Supposedly Lowes or homedepot sells a silicone transition hose.

Squishing the 6inch side into a oval makes it a 7inch long oval then the 4inch circle fits right over the throttle body...

I know i know, it looks a little ghay, but if it functions as it should and wont slip off, then ill be okay with it. I hate shopping at HD or lowes for car stuff :/
circle- 4inch OD
oval- 7inch OD
length- 2.5inch..
I think the HD one posted is tooo long..
Might be able to cut it down, but im not sure i can get it down to 2.5"

getting to a round outlet equal to MAF or TB, is
within the abilities of most people (cosmetics, maybe
vary). You could even take your ripped boot and use
it to mold a core out of plaster-of-paris.
Perhaps using something like 3M 4100 type urethane,
or windshield adhesive urethane, and laying up a few
layers of urethane and reinforcing mesh (like window
screen) would be preferable, for flexibility.
There is also castable silicone, which may be better
for high temp if less tough in general - the reinforcing
material might handle that.
