Talking Wait for QTP's?

I have been reading this debate over Pace & FlowTech LT's, I really want QTP's , but I'm a college student w/ no $ . Just wondering how much of a power difference were looking at here? Is the coating on the Pace & FT as good as Jet-Hot? I also don't want to take a grinder to ANYTHING on my block or K-member. Do you HAVE to grind to fit? Also want to have a catted Y, does anyone make one for either of the two. Would it be stupid to buy a cheap set of LT's now, and end up buying QTP's a year or so from now, or just wait (if their coatings will last that long).
Appreciate any feedback.

Hey buddy, I was in a similar position as you are. I decided that if I was going to do this I was going to do it right the first time so I wouldn't run into the problem of going back later and changing it. It is expensive to buy the QTP's and get them installed, I won't lie, but I bit the bullit and bought the QTP LT's. They sat in my garage for a pretty long while because I wanted to wait until I had the funds to buy the QTP QTEC Dual Electric Cutout Y-Pipe. Once I had enough money to buy the Y-pipe, I saved for the install. This sounds like a nuisance, but believe me....It was worth all the waiting. From when I bought the headers to when I had both the headers and y-pipe installed, was about a month and a half. I wouldn't have done it any other way. The car pulls much harder now with these headers and is still quite a bit faster than my friend's WS.6 which basically has the same mods excpet he has Hooker LT headers, Hooker 3" ORYP, and SLP LM. Also you get the added benefit of having Stainless Steel headers which will outlast Ceramic Coated header and probably outlast your car.

Bottom Line... If you can hold your wad, wait until you have enough money to get the QTP's or KOOKS because they are worth the wait.

They can't make a Y w/ cats and dual cutouts, can they? It's gonna be hard but I guess I will wait. I did the same thing w/ the HotCam, now I want something bigger! Thanks for reply.

QTP is the best header man.... their High velocity merge collectors give you more power...
now see i went the cheaper route...and got coated headers... they are now badly rusted and peeling.. now i have to end up spending even more...do it right the first time so you dont have to spend more money like me....

QTPs are the best headers period!

put another vote in for waiting for the QTPs or getting them used/uninstalled from someone... I just put them on my '02 Z28 and they're great... had to remove the motormount to K-member bolts and lift the engine a tad to get them in, but they fit without issue after that... and there's plenty of room for running whatever size oil filter you want, too... stay away from the Hooker ORYP, we had to do some serious pounding to get that to work... sometime down the road, I'll probably get the QTP Y-pipe... I've been told by others that its a better design and tucks up under the car better... good luck... just be patient and it'll all come together for ya...

check out their website. ( www.quicktimeperformance.com ) and feel free to give them a call..they are really nice people and will lead you the right way

the high velocity merge collectors headers are their ultimate header.. it yields more power since it scavanges a lot better...and of coarse they are all stainless

My ideal setup that i am going to have very soon is the QTP headers with High Velocity Merge Collectors, a QTP ORY with a nice merge collector and of coarse the QTEC cutouts

QTP's it is The saving begins
I have GMMG, so I am going to get cats. ( Had an ORY and it sounded like crackled and popped ) anyone else heard LT's through GMMG w/o cats?) Rasp? I figured if a Bassani ORY sounded like crap, LT's would really sound like crap.
That confuses me though, I see somepeople post whose mods include LT's,ORY, and GMMG and they say they love their setup.
Anyone ever heard this?
Thanks
